Wipe it! Wipe it Big!

Sage took swimming lessons this past August and didn't surprise me at all when she rolled over to get a breath on her first lesson...ever! The child has no fear, and so much energy. (It also seems like some payback for having to basically throw Tatum in the pool in her clothes at her first few lessons). She progressed quickly and was able to learn the beginnings of the free style and breast strokes. Our favorite was the breast stroke, also known as the 'Cookie Jar.' Her teacher taught her how to "eat some cookies, give some away, and then wipe the cookie jar." She and I practiced on the way home from lessons by imitating her teacher, "Wipe it, wipe it big, wipe it again" we'd shout. She cracked me up when she yelled, "wipe it one more time!" I'm sad those weeks are over. Watching my kids swim during their lessons has been one of my favorite memories with them.

you're making fun of me now, aren't you? you're saying, "see? see, you freaking pansy, you coward, you freak, see? even a little girl can do it her first time in the pool?"

i am not an animal! i am a human being!

no way! she is swimming. those lessons must have been better than ours. august was rolling over and floating by the end of his 10 min lessons every day for 3 weeks. what a pain. It is pure joy watching them swim though. Accomplishment
